On Tuesday, the 24th of November, we had a visit from ‘Cell Explorers’. The children all really enjoyed learning about cells and getting to extract the DNA from a banana!
The Senior Infants have been celebrating Science Week 2015 with fun lessons on how plants grow – labelling parts of a plant, finding out what a seed needs to grow, the growing seasons and planting their own Spring bulbs.
The children had great fun investigating how plants ‘drink’. They loved observing the celery and white carnation gradually turn red as the plants ‘drank’ the dyed water during the week.
Watch the video below to see how we planted our own Spring bulbs in class and we are looking forward to watching them grow over the coming months.
